To get jobs, the first thing you should do is ensure you have a really GREAT profile! This is your selling tool to help you get jobs. Have a nice smiley headshot photo of yourself so people know who they will be working with. If you look grungy with an angry face, I’m sure you will not get hired!
Step two is to confirm your availability. We won’t disturb you or tell you about jobs if you say you are not available.
Step three is to state your qualifications if you have any. For example, you need to have a Working with Children Check (WWCC) if you are a babysitter.
Step four is to be happy with your hourly rate! We will add an administration fee to the rate so what appears on the website for customers to see will be a bit higher. There are no fees to you! So if you want $30 per hour, you get $30 per hour! The minimum charge is 1 hour. So if you do a job that takes 45 minutes, the customer get’s charged for 1 hour. If it’s longer than that, we pro-rata the hourly rate. To help you, we’ve added a timer function so you can “Start Timer” when you get to site and “Stop Timer” when you finish. This is optional. After the job is finished, you will have an opportunity to “Send Invoice” and the client will be asked to pay.
Step five is to tell your potential customers about yourself. Have you done these types of jobs before? If you signed up for a job as an Entry level provider, are you eager to learn? How many times have you done this sort of work? If you are intermediate level, will you be supplying equipment (like a lawnmower), consumables (like fuel) or will you use the customers equipment?
Step six is to be proud and show some photos of your work! Make sure you have the customers permission if you want to upload photos of your work from a customer.
So… you’ve done all the above… now how do you get jobs? We will help advertise for you and direct potential customers to view services they want on our website. When a customer sees a service they want, they will use Greatjob to see who is available for the time they want the service. They will view profiles of the people that are nearby their house. Once they shortlist a few potential service providers (maybe you?!) they will hit a button to see if the service providers are REALLY available… ie, you’ll get a text message asking if you are available at a certain time. If you are, you can reply with a “Y” or hit the hyperlink to view details of the job. You will have about 20 minutes to confirm you are available once you receive the text message. Once you confirm availability, we’ll let you know if you got the job within 25 minutes!!! How cool is that?!
