Step 1 — Build a great profile
Your profile is your shopfront. Start with a clear, friendly headshot so customers know who they'll be working with. A warm, approachable photo goes a long way toward getting hired.

Step 2 — Set your availability
Tell us when you're available to work. We'll only notify you about jobs during the times you've nominated — you won't be disturbed outside those hours.

Step 3 — Add your qualifications
List any relevant qualifications or certifications. Some services require them — for example, babysitters must hold a current Working With Children Check (WWCC). If you have relevant credentials, add them — they build trust and help you stand out.

Step 4 — Set your hourly rate
You decide what you earn. Set your hourly rate and that's exactly what you'll receive — Greatjob adds a small administration fee on top for the customer, so there are no deductions from your pay. A minimum one-hour charge applies to every job. Jobs longer than an hour are pro-rated at your hourly rate. To make this easy, every job includes an optional timer — tap Start when you arrive and Stop when you're done.

Step 5 — Tell customers about yourself
This is your chance to shine. Describe your experience, your approach, and what makes you great at what you do. Are you new and eager to learn? Experienced with your own equipment? Let customers know what to expect.

Step 6 — Show off your work
Upload photos of previous jobs to give customers confidence in your abilities. Just make sure you have your customer's permission before sharing any photos of their property.

So how do jobs come to you?
Once your profile is live, Greatjob does the heavy lifting. When a customer in your area needs a service, they browse available local providers and shortlist who they'd like to work with. When they're ready to book, you'll receive an SMS:

"Hi [name], a customer in [suburb] is requesting [service] at [time]. Reply Y to accept or tap the link to propose another time."

If the request goes to more than one provider, the first to respond gets the job. So keep an eye on your messages — speed matters!

It only takes 2 minutes to sign up as a Service Provider. Once you're in, you can explore the platform and get started straight away. You'll need to complete your Provider Profile so that potential customers are more likely to choose you for their job.

We connect you with local clients so you can focus on doing a great job and getting paid. And with your own professional profile page, when a happy client recommends you to a neighbour they can send a direct booking link — word of mouth with a booking button attached.

You set your own rate and keep every dollar of it — there are no fees deducted from your earnings. Greatjob adds a small administration fee on top for the customer. Rates on the platform range from $18/hr to $150/hr depending on the service and skill level. We provide a general guide for your category, but ultimately you decide what your time is worth.

Registration takes just 2 minutes. Once you're on board, we have a simple vetting process to ensure we're providing the best possible experience for our customers. The identity verification process is quick and secure, and you can upload any relevant qualifications at the same time.

Payment is handled automatically by Greatjob — no invoicing, no chasing, no cash. Once you mark a job as complete, payment is processed securely and transferred directly to your account. You'll always be paid your full hourly rate with no deductions.

We understand that cancellations can be frustrating, especially when you've set aside time for a job. Customers are encouraged to reschedule rather than cancel wherever possible — this keeps things fair for providers and means you don't lose the booking entirely. If a cancellation does occur, customers are made aware that late cancellations within 48 hours may incur a cancellation fee. We're committed to making Greatjob fair for everyone.

Absolutely! Greatjob is built for the whole community, not just the services we've thought of. When signing up, simply type your specific service in the 'Enter your service below' field at the top of the service selection step — whether you're a photographer, piano teacher, mobile massage therapist, or anything else. Customers will be able to find you through our search function. If your service becomes popular, it may even become its own category on the platform.

Not necessarily. An ABN is only required if you register as a Professional level provider on Greatjob. If you're joining as an Entry level or Intermediate provider, you don't need an ABN to get started. If you're unsure which level suits you, you can always start at Entry or Intermediate level and upgrade your profile as your experience and client base grows.
